A Family Get Together Paragraph
A family get together

Last Sunday there was a family get-together at our house. The occasion was the eightieth birth day of my grandfather. My three uncles with their families came to our house to join us. Mother and my aunts were busy throughout the day cooking food and preparing sweet dishes. The living room was tastefully decorated with garlands by my cousin sisters. My uncles and myself rearranged the chairs and made proper sitting arrangement. In the morning grandfather and grandmother were dressed in new clothes and marked with chandan paste in the forehead. Father, mother, uncles and the aunts presented them with dhotis, sarees, shawls and packets of sweetmeats and sought their blessing. In the evening a few of our neighbours also joined us. They brought flower bouquets and offered their best wishes. At our request, grandfather narrated some interesting events in the early lives of my father and uncles. As he mused on the past, we could feel the great sense of affection which overpowered him. We could make out the care and affection with which he reared the family. Then a group photo of the entire family was taken by father. The get-together ended with a dinner. I enjoyed the day very much and I wish we could celebrate the occasion for many more years to come.
